With strong perseverance, sense of responsibility, physical fitness, team spirit and self-discipline, athletes are strong candidates for the Force. The Recruitment Division (RECDIV), therefore, has launched Sportsmen’s Programme for Recruitment Experience and Development (SPREAD) since July 2021 with tailor-made activities to enhance their overall competitiveness for future transformation into a Police officer. On February 24, 2023, SPREAD set up an information station at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) to increase the knowledge of local elite athletes about policing work and the selection process, and get them well prepared for joining the Force in future.
