Ma On Shan Division (MOSDIV) of Shatin District (STDIST) earlier recruited mentees of the Police Mentorship Programme from the Chinese University of Hong Kong to become Anti-Deception Ambassadors (ADAs) under its on-campus Anti-Deception Ambassador Programme. The kick-off cum appointment ceremony was held on February 16. District Commander of STDIST Leung Tsz-kin encouraged the 14 appointed ADAs to promote anti-deception messages on campus in order to protect their friends and family from falling prey to deception crimes.
Under the Programme, two sessions of anti-deception training were held on February 16 and 22 respectively for briefing the ADAs on the most common modus operandi of scams and anti-deception strategy. The ADAs proposed action plans for their respective anti-deception promotion campaigns, with the first anti-deception leaflet distribution held successfully on campus on February 24. In the upcoming year, MOSDIV will hold different anti-deception promotion campaigns with the ADAs regularly to keep the staff and undergraduates staying alert and avoid their being victimised in scams.
