Shatin District (STDIST) held Project SLASH PLUS on January 27 and 28, targeting police officers’ children and their friends who are currently studying in secondary school or university locally or abroad. It provided them with activities to experience frontline policing duties.
15 participants had hands-on experiences on various policing duties, including beat patrol, handling cases, conducting operation with Mobile Video Team, participating in the Security Guards Alertness Campaign and anti-street gambling operation, as well as understanding the work of the Police Dog Unit and Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-unit.
STDIST hopes to enhance the officers’ enthusiasm and pride in their police work, enable their children and friends to have more interests in police work, and encourage the youngsters to join the Force.
