The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) and Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), together with Legislative Council Members Mr Lee Wai-wang and Dr Tan Yue-heng, organised a seminar on fraud prevention for a group of elderly residents in Central District on December 5, 2022. The officers explained information on fraud prevention and reminded them to beware of telephone scams. The “CyberDefender”, a one-stop online information platform, and the “Scameter”, were introduced to help the seniors identify frauds and online traps, as well as preventing them from being victimised in scams.

Moreover, CPB organised a fraud prevention seminar and a visit to the Regional Crime Prevention Exhibition Room of New Territories North on November 22, 2022 for students from the Hong Kong College of Technology. Through interactive sessions, the officers explained information on fraud prevention and reminded the students to stay vigilant against phone scams.
