To raise the awareness of deceptions among the hearing-impaired and the deaf-mutes, the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (RCPO NTN), together with the NGO Silence, held an anti-deception seminar with live sign language translation on December 2, 2022 to prevent those people from being victimised when they do online shopping or use social apps online. During the seminar, the scammers’ practices were analysed. Through interactive games, the participants’ understanding of scams were enhanced and the one-stop scam and pitfall search engine “Scameter” was promoted.
