JPC Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp (JPC@Pat Heung) held the JPC Fun Day @ Pat Heung on November 12. Over 200 JPC members representing 21 Police Districts joined the “Smartest Little Cop Challenge” competition in teams. The four stations in the challenge, namely “The Wisest” (escape room), “The Sharpest” (laser gun), “The Fastest” (PH race) and “The Fittest” (physical fitness), were held for JPC members to experience the training of specialised police to enhance their interest in police work. Various performances and booths of different police units were arranged on the fun day to strengthen JPC members’ crime prevention awareness and understanding of police work, including a joint counter-terrorism exercise, performance by the Police Dog Unit and display of special police vehicles, uniforms and equipment, etc. Kwun Tong District JPC won the overall championship. Wong Tai Sin District JPC and Sau Mau Ping District JPC won the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

One of the highlights of the JPC Fun Day @ Pat Heung was JPC@Pat Heung’s brand new facility Code Buster sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK). Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) Chan Tung and member of the Legislative Council cum General Counsel of BOCHK Ms Kan Wai-mun officiated on the Open Day and inaugurated Code Buster. Chan Tung said in his speech that Code Buster was designed with reference to the popular puzzle-solving team activities among youths to instil correct values in the youths through games. He thanked BOCHK for supporting the Force’s youth engagement effort, which further made JPC@Pat Heung a distinctive training centre. JPC@Pat Heung will keep developing more facilities and activities to strengthen youth training and enhance youths’ understanding about the Force.

The Code Buster sponsored by BOCHK is the only physical escape room incorporating the concept of police stories. Participants wearing specially designed uniforms would carry out different tasks such as investigation, rescue or crime prevention, with educational messages integrated in the games.
