The renovation works of the District Operations Room (DOR) of Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) was completed in June to assist officers in handling major operations. To meet operational needs, WCHDIST DOR upgraded its hardware and functions of its facilities to enhance operational capabilities and efficiency. A video wall 250 inches in size comprising 15 television screens was installed to channel video signals from various sources in different modes for officers to master situations instantly. They may also untilise the Interactive Digital Smartboard to make records and draw operational deployment maps for more effective operation. Furthermore, DOR is connected to the Public Announcement and CCTV systems surrounding PHQ to strengthen public safety in the vicinity of the complex. The new facilities have enhanced the commanding officers’ effect and accuracy in monitoring and deployment, showing that the newly implemented technology-based management systems can effectively enhance the Force’s efficacy of resources deployment.

DOR has improved the WCHDIST officers’ capabilities in operational command and support. WCHDIST will keep improving its operational efficiency by utilizing innovation and technology.
