Cyber Attack and Defence Elite Training – Youth series 2022/2023 (CADET Youth 2022/23) is a major publicity campaign organised by Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) for the first time to enhances public awareness in cyber security among residence in GBA aged 14-24 by means of interactive online games and computer system defense competitions. The campaign aims at promoting the cyber security concept “Zero Trust” to strengthen talent networking in cyber security and to develop cyber security talents in the GBA, as well as providing career planning advice for youngster inspired to engage in cyber security.
CADET Youth 2022/23 is divided into three stages. In the first stage commencing in mid-October, CSTCB jointly organised “Cyber Attack and Defense Elite Game Design Competition” with Association of I.T. Leaders in Education (AiTLE). By integrating cyber security knowledge into the game design competition, CSTCB enhances the youngsters’ understanding and awareness of the risks in the cyber world. CSTCB also delivered three webinars workshops in October for schools and students interested in cyber security to improve their awareness of cyber security risks and their skillsets for software design.
The second and third stages will be held between December 2022 and February 2023. On December 10, a ceremony will be held, with online and offline talks to be delivered by cyber security experts in GBA. Meanwhile, an online platform will be made available for participants in the GBA to take part in interactive online games, educational materials and videos on the “Zero Trust” cyber security theme. Electronic certificates will be awarded to participants who have complete the study. In February 2023, elite teams from GBA will compete in a cyber range for cyber intelligence, digital forensic, cybercrime investigation and incident response.
