Mong Kok District (MKDIST) has launched “Project Torch” since 2017 to provide various confidence-bolstering training for people who aspire to join the Force. On September 14, MKDIST held a workshop for potential applicants for the post of inspector. District Commander of MKDIST Ng Chi-chung, two inspectors of MKDIST and a physical training instructor of the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) spoke to the participants about the competence and quality that an inspector should possess, as well as their views on the candidates’ performance, the selection criteria throughout the application process and how to equip themselves to cope with the training.
Four members of “Project Torch” completed their training for probationary inspectors on September 17 and joined the passing-out parade at HKPC to begin their challenging police career. Up to September 2022, a total of 26 inspectors and 30 police constables have joined the Force through the Project.
