The Force has collaborated with the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) in producing the radio programme “The Force’s Morning Voice” (晨光警聲). Since January 7, the programme has been broadcast every Friday in “Morning Suite” of RTHK Radio 2 to deliver police messages to the public, covering topics on police-community relations, anti-deception, road safety and crime prevention, etc. 40 episodes have been broadcast, with more than 1.3 million people listening to it on police social platforms.
Four officers from different formations of the Force take turns to host the programme and introduce the work of various police units. The hosts include Chief Inspector of Road Safety Unit of the Traffic Branch Headquarters Chan Ka-yeung, Senior Inspector of Anti-Deception Coordination Centre of Commercial Crime Bureau Chan Wing-yee, Inspector of Public Relations Wing Yim Chi-kong, and Senior Inspector of Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau Chui Wai-ying, who has recently joined the hosting team. Chui believes that online scams are ever-changing. The Force should tell the public about the modi operandi of various scams for people to prevent such crimes and gain insight into the motives of scammers to avoid being trapped online. As long as they keep tuned in to “The Force’s Morning Voice”, the public will get the latest information of the Force and stay away from scams.
The hosts have rich policing knowledge and experience, and will deliver police messages to citizens in a light-hearted approach to raise the public’s understanding of the Force and enhance their crime prevention and road safety awareness.
