The Chief Secretary for Administration Mr Chan Kwok-ki, the Secretary for Security Mr Tang Ping-keung and Commissioner Siu Chak-yee officiated at the Launching Ceremony of Junior Police Call (JPC) Summer Camp at the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre (JPC@Pat Heung) on August 16.
With the theme of “Be a Leader • Fight Crime Together” this year, the JPC Summer Camp aims at encouraging young people to step out of their comfort zone, enhancing their resilience, team spirit and leadership skills and cultivating positive values through diversified training activities, as well as promoting crime-fighting messages among teenagers.
At the ceremony, the Secretary for Security called on young people to have a better understanding of the country, cultivate national feelings and establish a Chinese identity to become a new generation with sense of nationality, Hong Kong sentiment and international vision. Moreover, they should equip themselves well for making self-improvement and contributing to Hong Kong and the country. Chief Superintendent of Public Relations Wing Tsang Shuk-yin thanked the JPC Central Advisory Board members and relevant stakeholders for their unfailing support on the development of young people, especially in cultivating a new generation of youngsters who are righteous, law-abiding, respectful and responsible.
The Summer Camp held in August comprised PH race, Zipline, Chinese foot-drill and flag-raising training, VR anti-drug and child protection experiences, as well as the sharing session provided by the Law Society of Hong Kong. They provided day-camping activities of the 4.5-day adventure training for over 600 JPC members.
