The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) organised the 2nd Virtual Technology Crime Investigation Workshop between July 27 and 28, attracting over 540 cybercrime investigators and digital forensics experts from 84 INTERPOL member jurisdictions.


The theme of the workshop was “The Next Generation Policing: Emerging Technologies and Changing Cyber Threats”. CSTCB invited local and overseas stakeholders, including representatives from the Securities and Futures Commission and Department of Justice, eminent researchers from the University of Hong Kong and experts from social platforms and cryptocurrency trading platforms, to give keynote presentations on the theme. They provided the attendees with directions to address emerging challenges in the digital era.


Chief Superintendent of CSTCB Cheng Lai-ki stated in her opening remarks that faced with ever-evolving cyber threats, both public and private sectors should make collaborative efforts in combating technology crimes which respect no boundaries.


The workshop provided a platform for law enforcement agencies, private sector experts and academic researchers across the globe to share their profound insights on and expertise in emerging cyber threats, to learn among themselves and to face new challenges together with concerted progress. CSTCB will keep fostering international collaboration and thriving to maintain safety of the cyber world.
