In light of the recent upsurge in telephone deception cases targeting restaurants, Eastern District (EDIST) together with the industry representatives, community leaders and EDIST JPC Honorary President visited more than a hundred restaurants and distributed leaflets to the persons-in-charge and order takers on July 4.

Based on the analysis of five similar cases in the past, the Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) of EDIST designed leaflets to explain the modus operandi of fraudsters and remind shop owners of the relevant precautionary measures.
