The second Commissioner Rank Officers’ Strategic Planning Conference took place at the Police Officers’ Club on July 5, 2022. The participants exchanged views frankly and openly at the conference and confirmed the Strategic Directions for 2022-2024 and set the Strategic Objectives for these directions.
The participants also discussed feasible key initiatives for the Strategic Directions. In his closing remark, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee said that the current strategic planning was particularly challenging. Given the protests in 2019, enactment of the National Security Law in 2020 and the ongoing pandemic, the environment and atmosphere of the whole society were totally different from those of early 2019 when the previous Strategic Directions were announced. He hoped that the entire Force would make united efforts supporting the new Strategic Directions to meet existing and potential challenges.
