To strengthen the Prosecuting Officers’ professionalism and competence in handling defaulter cases, the Discipline Division, jointly with the Force Discipline Adjudication Unit (FDAU) and the Discipline Case Audit Team, held two workshops on May 26 and June 14 respectively. 36 participants, who have been or will be assigned Prosecuting Officers, took part in the workshops which covered the Force’s discipline mechanism, procedural updates, points to observe on disciplinary review and sharing of practical experience in disciplinary proceedings. A mock disciplinary hearing was also conducted in the hearing room to reinforce the participants’ learning experience.

Chief Superintendent of Conditions of Service and Discipline Branch Cheung Tin-yee reminded the participants in her concluding remarks that they should uphold the high disciplinary standard required of police officers. She also encouraged them to continue equipping themselves with enhanced capabilities in handling both disciplinary reviews and proceedings. Similar workshops will be held on a regular basis in the future.
