The Recruitment Division (RECDIV) held the Recruitment Experience and Assessment Day (READ) under the theme “Your Call, Our Calling” at the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) on June 19 for participants to understand the Force. The event attracted 2 461 visits and 926 on-site applications. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee also attended the event and visited the workshops.
The eventful READ comprised selection workshops, physical fitness test workshops and equipment exhibitions by different units, namely the Railway Response Team, Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit, Missing Persons Unit, Police Tactical Unit, Police Dog Unit, and Force Escort Group. To allow participants to have a better understanding of the training, instructors and trainees of HKPC briefed the participants on various equipment used for training and shared the training life at the College. Thematic talks were also held on the day to provide recruitment information and enhance the participants’ knowledge about policing work.
There were also on-the-spot physical fitness test and group interview sessions for participants to experience the entry test through the workshops. They might also take part in the selection process during the group interview workshops. Successful results achieved in these sessions would be valid for three months. 287 participants joined the physical fitness test workshops and 227 joined the group interview workshops.
RECDIV, which is committed to recruiting talents, will participate in the Education and Careers Expo in July and deploy the promotional truck “Police Mobile Recruitment Station” in August to communicate with the citizens who aspire to join the Force. Outreach activities including career talks and “Recruitment Express” will also be held at tertiary institutes.
