Senior Police Call (SPC) launched its annual event “SPC Share the Love” on May 28 to express care and love to the elderly and the people in need. Districts co-operated with various non-profit social welfare organisations in the territory to distribute 10 000 blessing bags with food, daily necessities and anti-epidemic items to the people in need within one week. As it is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) this year, the design of the publicity items and blessing bags showcases the characteristics of Hong Kong and its accomplishments over the past 25 years. The design also expresses the aspiration for and confidence in a better future.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, various social sectors showed their support unanimously by endeavouring to prepare for the event. Officiating at the kick-off ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee expressed gratitude to the community for their continuous support. To echo with the spirit of concern and care for the needy, a video entitled “Blessing Bags Across Generations”, in which Honorary Presidents and members of SPC joined the youngsters to pass around the blessing bags across the territory, was shown during the ceremony. Eventually, SPC’s mascot, “Master Bean”, appeared and presented the blessing bag to the officiating guests for kicking off the event.
Officiating guests of the ceremony included Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Yuen Yuk-kin, Director of Operations Chan Joon-sun, Chairperson of SPC Central Advisory Board cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Kwok Pak-chung, Vice-Chairperson of SPC Central Advisory Board cum Chief Superintendent of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Tsang Shuk-yin, Chairperson of SPC Central Finance Committee Mr Ngan Chi-wing, Chairperson of SPC Central Activity and Organizing Committee Dr Albert Wong, and Senior Superintendent of PPRB Yau Sin-man.
