T HKI promotes road safety among students
With the epidemic getting stable, schools resume face-to-face classes gradually in late April. Officers of the Road Safety Team of Traffic Hong Kong Island (T HKI) visited a number of kindergartens and primary schools on Hong Kong Island between April 19 and May 3. Leaflets and souvenirs were distributed to students, parents, as well as drivers of school buses and nanny vans, to promote road safety. T HKI will also give road safety lectures at schools to deliver road safety messages to students.
EDIST shows support to DSE candidates
To show its support to the candidates sitting for the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination, the Eastern District (EDIST) invited members of different sectors to pack and disseminate anti-epidemic kits to the DSE candidates of the current year. District Commander (DC) of EDIST Peter Whitton and District Officer (Eastern) Mr Chan Sheung-man, packed anti-epidemic kits with members of the local community on April 20. People from different sectors, including members of the Legislative Council, District Council, District Fight Crime Committee (Eastern District), Fire Safety Committee (Eastern District), parent-teacher associations, Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call of EDIST, as well as principals of secondary schools, joined the event enthusiastically.
DC of EDIST Peter Whitton, together with Deputy DC of EDIST Chan Hon-ming and members of the community, handed out the anti-epidemic kits to DSE candidates outside the 10-odd examination centres in Eastern District on April 22 to show their support to the candidates, and disseminated the most updated anti-deception and anti-drug information.
The packages contained anti-epidemic materials such as masks and rapid antigen test kits, with anti-deception and anti-drug leaflets attached to promote fight-crime messages.
TKODIST distributes supplies to students
As schools have resumed face-to-face classes gradually in late April, Tseung Kwan O District (TKODIST) Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents Council specially sponsored anti-epidemic kits consisting of rapid antigen test packs, masks and disinfectant alcohol. District Commander of TKODIST Mak Man-yu and a number of TKODIST JPC Honorary Presidents distributed 1 000 anti-epidemic kits to the students in need on April 22. TKODIST will keep helping the needy and foster community harmony through different events.
Besides, the Police Community Relations Office of Tseung Kwan O District organised various online learning classes for teenagers, non-ethnic Chinese youngsters and the elderly in the district between January and April to stay in touch with the residents of various social strata in the district during the pandemic. The classes included Putonghua, Chinese calligraphy, parent-child cooking and creative handicraft. Anti-epidemic information was also shared online.
KTDIST promotes anti-deception messages in primary school
As the epidemic becomes stable, students have resumed face-to-face classes by phases since late April. To enhance publicising anti-deception and anti-epidemic messages, the Police Community Relations Office of Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) launched a promotion exercise in a primary school of the district on April 26.
Police Community Relations Officer of KTDIST Wong So-fan and the anti-scam mascot “The Little Grape” conveyed anti-deception messages to students, teachers and parents after school. 600 anti-epidemic kits were distributed to all students of the school so as to fight the virus together.
