The Airport District (APTDIST), Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit and Airport Authority jointly organised an online counter-terrorism & anti-deception workshop on April 27 for the staff working at the Hong Kong International Airport, with a view to enhancing the staff’s vigilance against terrorism attacks and urging them to report to the Police immediately once any suspicious objects or explosive devices were found. The officers also introduced the latest modus operandi and trends of scams, means to prevent various types of deception and technology crimes, as well as relevant anti-deception information.
The workshop attracted more than 200 staff from around 40 companies. The participants agreed that it enabled them to enhance their awareness of terrorism attacks and understand various deception-related crimes. They were also briefed on how to identify and handle suspicious telephone calls. APTDIST will keep strengthening the stakeholders’ vigilance against terrorism attacks and disseminating anti-scam messages through various platforms.
