In a bid to enhance counter-terrorism awareness of the community and build up community emergency preparedness, Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) conducted a series of seminars, workshops and exercises for students and teachers in the fourth quarter of 2021. Through these activities, SSPODIST introduced the survival skill in the event of an attack, i.e. “Run, Hide, Report” to teachers and students.

Multiple kindergartens, secondary and primary schools, and special needs schools in SSPODIST participated in the campus lockdown exercises which comprised lectures on survival skills in the event of an attack, group discussions and drills simulating suspicious trespassers attacking on campus. Teachers and students participated actively and were able to respond to the simulated attack in time with the skills they learned. Participants agreed the exercise enhanced their emergency preparedness.
