In response to the Police (Discipline) (Amendment) Regulation which came into effect in October 2021, Personnel Wing (P Wing) had upgraded the Force Disciplinary System to fulfil the requirements. Facilities in the hearing rooms of the Force Discipline Adjudication Unit (FDAU) were upgraded with reference to the design of hearing rooms and courts in Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas places, and had commenced operation in February 2022. Senior Superintendent of P Wing (Headquarters) Wong Kwok-kit said, “The upgrade aims at highlighting the solemnity, professional standard and practicality of the hearing rooms. I am pleased to learn that the Adjudicating Officers, Prosecuting Officers and legal representatives who have recently attended the disciplinary hearings are satisfied with the new hearing rooms.”
In addition, P Wing has established a Discipline Case Audit Team in 2021 to enhance the standard and efficiency of disciplinary reviews by providing advisory services for Formation Discipline Officers and investigations officers. P Wing also launched a force-wide Mentorship Programme on Discipline in March 2022 to elevate the overall performance of Prosecuting Officers in disciplinary proceedings.
