YLDIST
At around 9.30pm on December 26, 2021, officers of the Traffic Enforcement Team of Yuen Long District (YLDIST) noticed a car was parked in the middle of Ma Miu Road in Yuen Long with the hazard warning lights turned on. As the heavy rain made the road slippery and obstructed the view of drivers, the car posed danger to other road users. With good initiative, Sergeant Ko Kwok-ching, Police Constables Wong Yu-cheong and Lam Kwun-fung immediately stepped in to assist.
Upon enquiry, the officers learnt that the car could not be restarted due to the rain and the driver had already called a tow truck for assistance. Sergeant Ko Kwok-ching told the driver that the location where the car was parked could pose danger to the driver and other road users. To prevent potential traffic accidents, the officers quickly pushed the car to a nearby safe location and alleviated the traffic condition. Later, the driver wrote an appreciation letter to the Force to praise the officers for their professionalism.

On December 27, 2021, Ta Kwu Ling Division (TKLDIV) received a report from a man that his dog went missing around the Man Kam To area. Despite the large area of TKLDIV, officers tried their best to search for the missing dog as soon as possible.
On January 2, 2022, an auxiliary officer spotted a dog which matched the description of the missing dog while he was on duty at the Man Kam To Check Point, so he kept the dog and contacted the owner. The owner was thrilled when he reunited with his dog. He later wrote a thank you letter and presented a pennant as a token of appreciation for officers’ professionalism. The officers felt very encouraged to gain the recognition from the public.
