Through the revalidation application made by the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) in June 2021, the Force once again won the Hong Kong Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise (MIKE) Award 2021 in September. The Hong Kong Judging Panel stated that the Force has an all-round and excellent performance in all areas of the MIKE Assessment Criteria (Sustainability Factors), as reflected in the breadth and depth of its innovative initiatives. In terms of Innovation Performance, the Force has been doing very well and received many local and international awards in recognition of its achievements. The Force should keep up its effort to become an exemplar for other police forces worldwide. In December 2021, the Force once again achieved the Global MIKE Award 2021 through revalidation.

The Force also seeks sustainable partnership with local universities and research institutes. Since August 2020, the HKPC has collaborated with the University of Hong Kong in delivering the subject of “Psychology in Policing” in the Professional Diploma Programme in Leadership and Management in Policing for Probationary Inspector and the Professional Diploma Programme in Policing for Recruit Police Constable.

Over the years, the HKPC has signed various Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with local universities and organisations to foster closer ties. On April 19, 2021, the HKPC renewed the MoU with the Education University of Hong Kong on Project TeachLink to enhance the exchange of teaching experience between the two institutions. On July 16, 2021, the MoU with the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre was renewed to facilitate the HKPC’s exchange of IT experience in its immersive learning programmes. On September 2, 2021, the MoU with the City University of Hong Kong was renewed to explore training research opportunity. On September 27, 2021, collaboration started afresh with the Hong Kong Metropolitan University through an MoU.

The HKPC has also invited professors from local universities as Honorary College Advisors to speak in various police training programmes. Apart from academic collaborations, the HKPC has partnered with the Music for Our Young Foundation since 2018 to run a youth engagement programme “Music Vision”. The HKPC will endeavour to maintain collaborative partnerships with various education institutions in Hong Kong.
