Senior Police Call (SPC) and the Hong Kong Alumni Association of the Southern Medical University co-organised the SPC Disease Prevention and Health Campaign 2021 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on December 5 to enhance the elderly’s anti-epidemic awareness and provide free Chinese medical consultation services. More than 800 guests and SPC members attended the event.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the SPC Central Advisory Board (SPC CAB) cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Kwok Pak-chung expressed gratitude to SPC CAB members, Chairpersons of the SPC Honorary Presidents Councils from different police districts, Chinese medicine practitioners of the Hong Kong Alumni Association of the Southern Medical University, members of the Birney’s Corps Volunteers, officers from different police districts and SPC members for their continuous support.
The event featured a variety of activities, including a sharing session on anti-epidemic knowledge conducted by Dr Carl Leung, an anti-deception performance by SPC members of Yuen Long District, a Chinese medicine anti-epidemic seminar delivered by Dr Cheung Kit-nung and the practice of anti-epidemic vitality exercises by the participants with the coaching of Professor Stanley Hui, followed by free medical consultation services provided by more than 30 Chinese medicine practitioners to over 600 SPC members.
Through promoting community engagement and cross-agency cooperation, SPC is committed to providing an appropriate platform for the elderly community to continue to serve society, acquire new knowledge and lead a fruitful life.
