On October 22, Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) received a report about a case of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, in which a man was attacked and injured. Officers of the Emergency Unit of Kowloon East swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect. They also notified officers of the District Investigation Team 1 (DIT 1) for further investigation. DIT officers obtained further information from the informant and secured evidence at the scene, while the victim was conveyed to the United Christian Hospital for medical treatment.
Afterwards, DIT officers arrived at the hospital for investigation and noticed that the victim was on a wheelchair because of his injuries. DIT officers then assisted in pushing the wheelchair for the victim and they also cared for and comforted the victim while he was receiving treatment at the hospital. Recently, the victim wrote a complimentary letter to express his appreciation to officers for their care. DIT officers were greatly encouraged by the recognition and praise from the victim. They will continue to perform their duties with professionalism and serve citizens with Honour, Duty and Loyalty.
