Commissioner Siu Chak-yee attaches great importance to internal communication. He visited the Administration Wing and the Sheung Shui Police Station on September 16 and 25 respectively to engage with officers.
Accompanied by Police Civil Secretary Ma Siu-hung, the Commissioner was briefed on the administrative services in supporting the Force during his visit to the Administration Wing. Besides overseeing the human resources management, welfare and staff relations of all civilian grades, the Administration Wing also provides support to the establishment and environmental management matters of the Force. When meeting with a cross-section of staff of the Administration Wing, the Commissioner thanked them for providing staunch and reliable administrative support to the Force.
During his visit to the Sheung Shui Police Station, the Commissioner expressed his appreciation to officers of the Task Force Sub-unit of Sheung Shui Division for their dedication to duty. Apart from praising officers for adopting a strategic approach in combating burglary which led to a successful arrest, the Commissioner expressed his care for officers who were injured in an anti-burglary operation. He also responded to officers’ questions regarding equipment, operational needs and welfare.
In both visits, the Commissioner shared with officers his insights on the Force’s community policing as well as strategies for garnering public support and confidence. The Commissioner’s visits were very much welcomed and appreciated by officers.
