Director of Crime and Security (D C&S) Chow Yat-ming inspected the passing-out parade of 85 graduates as the Reviewing Officer at the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Headquarters on August 21. The graduates included nine Probationary Inspectors (Auxiliary) and 76 Recruit Police Constables (Auxiliary).

In his speech, D C&S reiterated that the Force attaches great importance to teamwork. As a frontline commander during the social unrest in 2019, he witnessed auxiliary officers staying committed to maintaining law and order in their spare time. They served as a solid backup for regular officers, fully demonstrating the solidarity of the regular and auxiliary police forces. D C&S was deeply moved by the strong support of auxiliary officers.

The graduates came from all walks of life, including a company director, medical staff, members of the aviation industry and tertiary students. D C&S hoped that they could share their life experience with regular officers and help members of public within their social circle to better understand police work. Finally, he encouraged the graduates to keep up the momentum to safeguard national security, maintain law and order and serve the public.
