Community Relations Bureau of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) held the “Senior Police Call - Share the Love 2021” event on June 19. Commissioner Tang Ping-keung, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) (DCP OPS) Siu Chak-yee, Chairperson of Senior Police Call Central Advisory Board (SPC CAB) cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Kwok Pak-chung, Vice-chairperson cum Chief Superintendent of PPRB Kwok Ka-chuen and SPC CAB members officiated at the kick-off ceremony at the Police Headquarters. The ceremony marked the beginning of the distribution of blessing bags in police districts. Apart from expressing care to the elderly, the event also demonstrated the Force’s commitment to serving the community. Anti-epidemic items were also included in the blessing bags to help the elderly fight against the pandemic.
After the ceremony, the Commissioner and DCP OPS, accompanied by SPC CAB members, officers of Police Community Relations Offices (PCROs) and SPC Honorary Presidents, visited elderly residents and gave out blessing bags in the Sai Wan Estate and the Lok Man Sun Chuen respectively. DCP OPS also paid a visit to the Yan Chai Hospital Ng Wong Yee Man Neighbourhood Elderly Centre to distribute blessing bags to the elderly.
Between June 19 and 25, two “SPC Fight Crime Vigour” publicity trucks also toured all police districts with officers of Regional Crime Prevention Offices, Regional Road Safety Teams and PCROs to distribute blessing bags and disseminate anti-deception and road safety messages to the elderly.
