As the campsite of Junior Police Call@Pat Heung has been converted into a quarantine centre to fight against the epidemic, the Community Relations Bureau of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) has launched the Pat Heung Outreach Programme since November 2020 to bring outdoor adventure training from the campsite to school campuses and the wilderness, with a view to maintaining close engagement with schools and the youth.
The training content is tailor-made for different venues to cater for the needs of students in different age groups and teachers. The programme includes a series of outside-the-classroom adventure activities, such as policing experience, team building, leadership training and wilderness survival training. These activities aim to explore the youth’s potential, enhance their discipline, team bonding and personal skills, nurture their sense of law-abidingness and social responsibility, and more importantly, equip them to be future leaders.
Since its rollout, the programme has been highly acclaimed by the participants, parents and the education sector for its effectiveness in building up the youth’s resilience and positivity. The programme has received overwhelming response and appointments for the upcoming summer holidays have been fully booked.
