The Counter Terrorism Response Unit (CTRU), the Airport Security Unit (ASU), the Railway Response Team (RRT) and the Emergency Unit of Kowloon West (EU KW) conducted joint counter-terrorism training at the West Kowloon Station of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link between May 5 and 7 to enhance officers’ coordination capability and operational competency.

The training simulated gunmen infiltrating the station while the officers were conducting a high-profile patrol. The officers used the Immediate Tactical Intervention to search for the gunmen and subdued them successfully. The joint training strengthened the communication, cooperation and responsiveness amongst the participating units.
