Shatin District (STDIST) and Road Safety Office of Traffic New Territories South jointly organised the “STDIST Cycling Safety Week 2021” between April 2 and 5.
On April 3, STDIST Commander Leung Tsz-kin, cycling athlete Mr Wong Kam-po, Commissioner of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (HKRSP) Dr Liu Kai-ming, as well as members of HKRSP, Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call attended the kick-off ceremony of the event and disseminated cycling safety information to members of the public at the resting stations along cycle tracks. A publicity tricycle was also deployed to the event to promote cycling safety.
Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Siu Chak-yee, together with representatives of Hong Kong Amputees Sport Association, Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation, Shatin Women’s Association and non-ethnic Chinese community in Shatin, also attended the publicity event.
STDIST will deploy the publicity tricycle to visit schools in Shatin for promoting cycling safety. In addition, a series of publicity activities will be held to raise awareness of cycling safety among members of the public.
