Four years ago, I joined the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force through the Auxiliary Undergraduate Scheme. Upon completion of the training, I was posted to Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST) and participated in “Project KEY” to gain a deeper understanding of police work. Through various training activities, I had improved my physical fitness and mindset. I was deeply inspired by the sharing session delivered by commanders, during which they shared their experiences in serving as sub-unit commanders and acting as a role model to lead their teammates to help members of the public solve various problems.

Joining the Force is no picnic. To be a Probationary Inspector, one must go through stringent selection process. I became a Probationary Inspector in February 2020 and underwent foundation training at the Police College. The training of “Project KEY” enabled me to get in the groove throughout the foundation training. We only had a few hours of sleep for consecutive days midway through our training but when I was about to give up, what a commander had said during the sharing session suddenly flashed across my mind: “We can overcome each and every hurdle”. Through perseverance, I successfully completed the training and graduated from the Police College.

I am grateful that TWDIST has organised “Project KEY”, which enabled me to unleash my potentials and lay a good foundation for my police duties.
