Shatin District (STDIST) has launched “Project TOUCH” this year to foster positive relationships between the Police and young people. With the support from Shatin Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council, STDIST will organise a series of activities, such as sports themed events, workplace visits and work experience programmes for students, in order to develop their positive values and equip them with knowledge and skills to plan for the future.
The first wave of the Project aims at building closer relationships with schools through sports. The project was kicked off with a live online sharing session conducted by Inspector Au Wing-chi on January 22. As a former elite squash athlete bred in Shatin, Ms Au shared with young people her strenuous path to becoming an athlete and outlined her life plan upon athletic retirement. Whilst encouraging students to move forward in the face of adversity, she also provided insights into life planning. More than 1 900 students joined the online sharing session.
