The then Director of Personnel and Training Li Kin-fai inspected a passing-out parade as the Reviewing Officer of 41 Recruit Auxiliary Police Constables at the headquarters of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) on December 19, 2020.
In his speech, Mr Li praised all Auxiliary members for their dedication and righteousness to spare their after-work time in upholding the safety of Hong Kong. The social turmoil arising from the protests against the extradition law amendment bill had posed unprecedented challenges to Force members. He thanked the Auxiliary counterparts who played a vital role in internal security and frontline policing to support the Police Force in safeguarding Hong Kong. The strong cooperation between Regular officers and Auxiliary members has fully demonstrated their comradeship. He encouraged the newly passed-out comrades to uphold their belief and discharge their duties without fear. Finally, he emboldened all newly passed-out comrades and all Auxiliary members to do their utmost in maintaining law and order.
That was the very first time that the Auxiliary Support Bureau arranged the national flag-raising ceremony and the playing of national anthem by Hong Kong Police Band at a passing-out parade. Due to the pandemic, no guests were invited to the ceremony and the passing-out parade was live-streamed on the Police YouTube Channel.
