Traffic New Territories North (T NTN) conducted an inter-departmental exercise codenamed “QUICKSKILL 2020” at Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road on November 13, with a view to enhancing the response capability and coordination of various units in handling major traffic accidents.

The exercise simulated an articulated vehicle ramming into a single-deck coach causing serious traffic congestion in Tuen Mun. A number of injured persons were trapped in the vehicles. Traffic officers immediately attended the scene for initial handling and diverting traffic to facilitate the arrival of rescue vehicles.

Over 100 representatives from T NTN, the Fire Services Department, the Government Flying Service, Hong Kong St John Ambulance Brigade and relevant organisations participated in the exercise.

The exercise enhances the response capability and coordination of various units in handling major traffic accidents.
