Deputy Commissioner (Operations) (DCP OPS) Siu Chak-yee visited the Auxiliary Police Headquarters on August 21 and observed the training of the Auxiliary Undergraduate Scheme (AUS). DCP OPS had an in-depth sharing with 30 AUS trainees who expressed their views on how to attract more graduates to join the Force and the ways to rebuild university students’ trust towards the Police.

DCP OPS also gave a sharing session to 30 mentees under the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) and the Police Mentorship Programme Outreach (PMPO) at the Senior Officers’ Mess on September 9. He discussed with the mentees on topics ranging from youth engagement, police image, community policing, social media, education policy to international relations.

During the two sharing sessions, DCP OPS shared his views on how to rebuild the relationship between the Force and the youth, and stated that the Force would keep strengthening the partnership with the community and improving the transparency of police work in order to restore the public’s trust and confidence in the Force.

DCP OPS encouraged the participants to take up challenges in the future. The participants expressed that the sharing sessions were inspiring, which gave them a better understanding of police duties and helped them better equip themselves to join the Force in the future.
