New Territories North (NTN) Region has been engaging the security industry to establish fight crime partnership. To recognise the contribution of the security personnel and property management companies in the past year, NTN Region Best Security Services Awards 2019 Presentation Ceremony was held on July 31. The ceremony was officiated by Regional Commander of NTN Mak Chin-ho, President of the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Dr Johnnie Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Security Association Mr John Li, Vice-chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority Mr Stephen Yip and Chairmen of the District Fight Crime Committees.
The event was conducted via video conferencing for the first time. To allow more audience to view the show, it was also broadcast live through Yuen Long Junior Police Call’s Facebook page. The awardees shared their winning stories through the interactive platform, which attracted over 10 000 views. The Gold Award winner shared his feeling in front of the camera, he said “I serve residents of the housing estate wholeheartedly and I treat them like my family members.” His strong sense of belonging to the housing estate has enabled him to perform his duties more devotedly.
Among 1 115 contestants, the judging panel selected the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, 10 Best Security Guard Awards, Merit Awards and Outstanding Prizes. In addition, a total of 148 property management companies were given Outstanding, Star and Double Star Property Management Awards. Since 2016, NTN Region has launched “Project LINKGUARD” in collaboration with property management sector, with an aim to promote crime prevention and intelligence gathering. The security industry has provided full support to the award scheme, which further enhanced the collaboration between the industry and the Police.
