Commissioner Tang Ping-keung, accompanied by Marine Regional Commander David Jordan, visited frontline officers at the Marine Regional Headquarters on July 15. The Commissioner was briefed on the policing of Marine Region and boarded a speedboat to experience high-speed pursuit and interception.


During the visit, the Commissioner chatted with frontline officers and responded to questions in regard to welfare issues. The Commissioner also expressed his gratitude to officers for their devotion to duty amid the COVID-19 outbreak as well as their professionalism displayed in daily policing work. Officers were encouraged by the Commissioner’s visit and grateful for the opportunity to communicate with the Commissioner in person.


On July 23, the Commissioner visited the Police Tactical Unit (PTU) Headquarters. Accompanied by the Commandant Chan Kin-kwok, the Commissioner observed the final exercise of Alpha Company (3/2020), PTU of New Territories South Region before passing out.


When meeting with a cross-section of staff, the Commissioner not only responded to questions regarding Operation TIDERIDER and anti-epidemic work, but also explained the Force’s future direction in policing. He praised PTU officers for their devotion and outstanding performance during Operation TIDERIDER. He also wished officers of Alpha Company good health and encouraged them to overcome challenges with professionalism so as to live up to the Force’s motto of “Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty”.
