In view of the surging deception cases which involve a significant portion of vulnerable elderly groups, the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon East (RCPO KE) has been collaborating with stakeholders in the region that serve elderly singletons, such as Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, Caritas Integrated Home Care Services Centre - Tseung Kwan O and Christian Family Service Centre to disseminate anti-deception messages to the elderly. RCPO KE officers would provide training to elderly service providers and share with them the prevalent deception trends, with a view to encouraging the service providers to remind the elderly to stay alert and not to disclose their personal information or transfer money to strangers.
