“Everlasting Mission”, an eight-episode police documentary series jointly produced by the Force and Hong Kong Open TV, was broadcast on Channel 77 of Hong Kong Open TV. The seventh episode is about the Police Negotiation Cadre (PNC), the anti-telephone deception team of Kowloon East Region and the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC). The PNC defuses crises using teamwork, negotiation skills and wisdom. This episode introduces the supportive gear for PNC officers, while the officers also share their experience in and tips for conducting negotiations. Meanwhile, the anti-telephone deception team of Kowloon East Region talks about some cases it has previously dealt with and shows real footage of relevant cases, as well as introducing different types of phone scams and investigation tactics. Last but not least, the episode shows how ADCC officers race against the clock to help scam victims retrieve the money they have lost.
The final episode features the Detective Training Centre (DTC) and the programme host’s review of the documentary series. The DTC provides the necessary training that will stand every future detective in good stead. This episode introduces the new technologies adopted by the DTC, its multifaceted and comprehensive training as well as a three-dimensional interactive role-playing training software called “Detective Boulevard”. Meanwhile, host Mr Chan Kai-tai revisits the content of the documentary series and says it is the most memorable production in his career. He also pays homage to his father who had been an auxiliary police officer for over three decades.
