Officers of the Police Community Relations Office and other units of Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) visited elderly care homes in the district on April 17 to distribute surgical masks donated by community members to senior citizens to help them fight against COVID-19.

During the visits, the officers briefed the elderly on different cases of telephone deception. A number of audio recordings of phone scams were played to alert the elderly to the modus operandi of swindlers. The officers also reminded the senior citizens to stay vigilant and call the “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” of the Police for assistance if they receive any suspicious calls.
