In early April, officers of the Police Community Relations Office of Tai Po District held an online video conference with 19 secondary school principals to discuss the prevailing youth crime situation and crime prevention work.
Throughout the conference, TPDIST Police Community Relations Officer and the principals exchanged their views on the concerned topics. A school head hoped that the Police could arrange activities such as visits to correctional facilities and sharing sessions with persons in custody to increase students’ understanding of the serious consequences of violating the law. Another principal suggested inviting social workers stationed at schools to attend the long-running “Headmasters and Discipline Masters’ Network Meeting” held by TPDIST after the epidemic is over to exchange views on youth crime prevention and law-abiding awareness of students. During the conference, officers of the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (RCPO NTN) also shared some tips on preventing face mask scams and enhancing the campus security during the class suspension period.
