The Force took part in the "Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics" with other law enforcement agencies at Sha Tin Sports Ground on April 29. The annual event was organised by the Hong Kong Special Olympics to raise fund for people with intellectual disabilities.


Commissioner Lo Wai-chung represented the Force to attend the opening ceremony, and cheered for 1 624 Force runners and their family participants. The Force's torch leader, Regional Commander of Kowloon West Cheuk Hau-yip, led the Force participants on a 4.5-kilometre route along Shing Mun River in high spirits.


The Force was awarded the honour of the top fund-raising law enforcement agency again as it raised a record amount of over $1.09 million out of a total donation of $2.3 million. The top three fund-raising Formations went to Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region, Kowloon West Region and New Territories North (NTN) Region.
