Led by Senior Superintendent Ng Lok-chun, officers from the Investigation and Support Division and the Enforcement and Control Division of Traffic Hong Kong Island (T HKI) visited Whitty Street Tram Depot of Hong Kong Tramways (HK Tramways) on February 9 to enrich their knowledge of trams and enhance their resilience in investigating accidents involving trams.

Managing Director of HK Tramways Mr Cyril Aubin and some managers introduced the history and the control centre of the company as well as the structure and braking system of trams to the traffic police officers. Some officers were invited to drive a tram inside the depot under the guidance of motormen.

Noting that trams are historic and iconic in Hong Kong, Mr Ng said that their meeting with Mr Aubin and his team was solid and both parties would work together to enhance road safety on Hong Kong Island.
