Officers of Yuen Long District (YLDIST) attended a workshop run by the Society for Abandoned Animals on May 11 about handling stray animals.

The workshop not only enhanced frontline officers' knowledge about handling stray cats and dogs, but also enabled them to foster ties with the Society for Abandoned Animals, which is a voluntary organisation based in Yuen Long.

Meanwhile, apart from assigning a designated investigation team to handle criminal cases involving animals, YLDIST formed a volunteer group named "YanimaL Power" in March 2016 to communicate with animal caring organisations in a bid to strengthen their expertise in handling animals.
