Kowloon East (KE) Region celebrated the establishment of Kowloon East Happy Teen Committee on May 18, with KE Regional Commander Duncan McCosh appointing 11 elites of the community as the founding Honorary Presidents of the committee.

The objectives of the committee are to build up trust among youths, the Force and the community at large; encourage young people to participate in activities with teachers, parents, the Force and other community representatives; as well as inspire youngsters to develop a positive and optimistic mindset with a sense of belonging to society.

To promote youth participation and enhance students' understanding of the committee, a youth team of a local school was invited to perform a lion dance at the inauguration ceremony of the committee.
