A 36-member delegation, led by Superintendent Wong Tung-kwong with three Chief Inspectors, 11 Senior Inspectors/Inspectors and 21 Junior Police Officers, attended a National Study Programme at Zhejiang Police College from April 19 to 28 under the arrangements of the Hong Kong Police College.
Director of the Police College Lau Chi-wai and the newly-appointed Director of Zhejiang Police College, Mr Ding Hong, officiated at the opening ceremony of the programme on April 19. The delegates then attended lectures on Chinese history, culture, legal system, economy, defence and diplomacy as well as the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Meanwhile, Hangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB) arranged for the delegation to visit the venue of G20 Summit 2016 and attend an on-site sharing of the security operations of the summit. The delegates were also divided into groups for a one-day job attachment with officers from Gongshu Sub-division of Hangzhou Municipal PSB to learn more about the work of frontline police.
A total of 13 National Study Programmes have been held by Zhejiang Police College for over 400 Force members since 2011.
