Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung and Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee led 36 officers from the Hong Kong Police Inspectors' Association (HKPIA) to attend the first National Studies Course run by China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong for Hong Kong Police Inspectorate from April 21 to 28 in Shanghai.
The officers attended thematic lectures, seminars and field visits to get first-hand information of the development of the Mainland on their national defence strategies and the Belt and Road Initiative.
Afterwards, the officers called on some policing units in Shanghai to see for themselves the operation of these units and to learn about the work challenges of their counterparts. They also visited the family of a few frontline officers in Pudong to get to know their daily life and build up friendship.
The course shed light on a different mode of policing, which had broadened the participants' horizons, benefited their professional development and laid a sound foundation for partnership.
