Commissioner Lo Wai-chung officiated at the opening of The House of Chivalry and Sportsman's Bar at the New Annex Block of Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) on May 15.

The restaurant and the bar are situated at the site of the former Sportsman's Bar.  Due to the construction works of the Shatin to Central Link, PSRC has been upgraded and expanded, including demolishing the Sportsman's Bar Annex for building the New Annex Block.  The Sportsman's Bar has been relocated to the New Annex Block, with the new restaurant, House of Chivalry, which can accommodate up to 150 people at indoor area.

Two naming exercises for the new restaurant were held in 2013 and 2015 and a total of 33 pairs of names were received from 29 Force members, including civilians.  Members of the Social Amenities Council of the Force selected "The House of Chivalry" and a Chinese name submitted by Senior Superintendent (SSP) Mak Wai-man as the winning entries.

According to SSP Mak, the English name serves as a tribute to the spirit of chivalry officers had demonstrated. The Chinese name indicates that the new restaurant is the place where police elites gather.
