Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or Higher
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or higher is issued outside office hours, services at the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Office will be suspended while the warning signal is in force.
If the warning signal No. 8 (or higher) is issued during office hours, the services will continue until all attending applicants present with appointment have been served.
In general, the services will be resumed in 2 hours after the warning signal No. 8 is lowered or cancelled. In case the warning signal is lowered or cancelled within 2 hours before the close of business, services will remain suspended for that day.
Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
If Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued outside office hours, the services will be suspended while the warning is in force. If the warning signal is subsequently cancelled, the same service resumption arrangement for Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or higher as stated above will be adopted.
If the warning signal is issued during office hours, the services will continue until the close of business.
For Those Who Have Made Appointment and Affected by the Above Arrangements
If services of the SCRC Office is suspended due to the stated reasons as mentioned above, those applicants affected, who could not complete their application on the original date of appointment, should bring along with them the required supporting documents and application fee when visiting the SCRC Office in person in the following 7 working days within office hours after the Office resumes business to conduct the check. The SCRC Office will process the application of the affected applicants as a “special application”.
Please note that :
- The interviewing officer of the SCRC Office will confirm the identity of affected applicants against the list of appointment of the date which services are suspended. Thus, if affected applicants would like to process their application within the following 7 working days according to the “special application” arrangement specified above, they should not amend or cancel their original appointment because the interviewing officer will not be able to locate the affected appointment, and the request for “special application” will be rejected.
- If affected applicants do not amend or cancel their original appointment, they will be eligible for “special application” automatically without the need of calling the SCRC Office to confirm such arrangement.
- As interviewing officers have to process additional “special applications” as mentioned above in the following 7 working days after the SCRC Office has suspended its services, the waiting time in the SCRC Office will inevitably be increased. Applicants are requested to remain patient and understandable.
- If affected applicants could not visit the SCRC Office within the following 7 working days after the SCRC Office has suspended its services, the “special application” arrangement would be cancelled and they have to make new appointment.
